Canadian rock singer and songwriter Sass Jordan has died at age 65. Her family announced that she died peacefully on October 2, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. No cause of death has been made public.

A statement shared following her death reflected on a career that stretched across music and television. Jordan rose to prominence in the late 1980s with her debut album, Tell Somebody, which helped establish her as a major voice in Canadian rock.

Her 1992 album Racine brought further attention and included Make You a Believer, one of her best-known songs. Over the years, Jordan continued recording and performing while also exploring blues and other musical styles.

She later became familiar to a wider television audience as a judge on Canadian Idol, appearing throughout the show’s six-season run.

Jordan had canceled performances in the months before her death because of a serious medical condition. She leaves behind a career that spanned decades and made her a recognizable figure in Canadian music and entertainment.
